After nearly twelve years, it looks like The Daily Eudemon has died. It started out as The Wednesday Eudemon (because I posted only on Wednesdays), then it morphed into The Daily Eudemon. For nearly ten years, I don't think I ever missed a day.
But those days might be over. The website provider for The Daily Eudemon has completely dropped the ball and somehow, inexplicably, banned my house computer from accessing my own site. They're not admitting this, of course, but two computer experts have told me that, as far as they can tell, that's what has happened.
The glitch has been occurring since early April, but then on April 13th, my home access was banned and never (as of today) come back. Furthermore, the web provider has stopped responding as promptly to my emails, so I'm quickly losing hope.
I can't maintain The Daily Eudemon at any level of quality if I don't have access from home, so I'm preparing for the worst. I'm putting this new blog into cyberspace. Hopefully, it won't be necessary, but as of right now--April 16, 2013 at 8:08 PM--it would appear The Daily Eudemon's decade-plus run is nearing the finish line, shot down by a cyber sniper of some sort.
I don't know what format I'll follow here. I'm inclined to reserve this site for fewer posts and higher-quality essays. My current thought: post something every day, but on most days, it'll be a simple link, quote, or note. I would, however, provide substantive commentary or essays a few times a week. We'll see where it goes. Like I said, at this point, TDE isn't quite dead yet. I'll see how things gel over the next week or so.
